Y2 Visit from the Fire Safety Officer
Carol, from Glossop fire station, came to teach us about keeping safe and knowing what to do in the event of a fire. Children will be going home tonight asking parents to check their smoke alarms. Conner and Megan demonstrated what to do in an emergency if our clothes caught fire: STOP, DROP and ROLL!
It was a very interesting talk followed up by some well thought out questions from the children. Thank you to Carol and the Derbyshire Fire Service

Thanks to Amy, little sister Megan and mum for bringing in Tiny, their lovely pet hamster. We learnt all about him and everyone was able to have a little hold.

One of the books we have been looking at in class is The Monkey With the Bright Blue Bottom. Today, we were writing questions that we would like to find the answers to: some ‘open’ and some ‘closed.’

In PE, the children have been working in groups on a ‘spring’ dance. Today, they performed the start of their pieces. There was lots of growing, stretching and fantastic movement. With any luck, they will be ready for our class assembly in March!!

Autumn Term 2017.

Some Pudsey Bear baking with Mrs Kersey!

In science we have been looking at characteristics of the four seasons.
We made these wind vanes to see what direction the wind was blowing on different days and recorded it in our science books. We also wrote some instructions so that other people would know how to make their own wind vane!
